Crossing our Fingers
So this is the house we bid on. We've now accepted the sellers counter bid and are waiting to get the official "we have agreed on a price" contract. We ended up getting the house for $75,000 plus most of the closing costs, so we felt pretty good about it since it is a $113,000 home.
It isn't anything super fancy, but they did just replace all of the carpet, tile, and paint to try to help sell the home. Because of that it is pretty much move-in ready, which we have discovered is a rarity. The house is a three bedrooms and two bathroom home with a two car garage. Dustin likes the little deck in back and the forest behind the back fence. I really like the windows that let LOTS of natural light into the living room and kitchen areas.
We decided we wanted to make this investment since it will cost us about the same price for rent as it would for a mortgage every month. Then at least we are paying towards something and can possibly get something out of it, but we figured even if we break even, we will have essentially lived here free for three years.
Hopefully the inspection won't reveal anything too crazy. We have tried to be super prayerful about the decision, and I feel like it has been such a tender mercy this whole time. Hope you like the picture!
