Emma's First trip to the Zoo
So, we finally did it. We both have Tennessee drivers licenses, so we figured it was as good of a time as any to take advantage of the free zoo day. Every Tuesday between 2-5 they open up the zoo to Tennessee residents to come in for free. Since it usually costs $15 a person, we definitely wanted to try it out for free first. So here it goes! This is what you see when you first come in. The entrance is a grand Egyptian entrance. All of the fountains are fair game for kids to run and swim in, which I thought was kind of fun.
I'm only posting a few of our animal pictures because Dustin went a little crazy with the camera...

| Apparently elephants have a two year gestation period, but they are expecting a little tyke this August. Pretty cool! |
| This guy was attracted to me...he kept staring at me and following me as we walked by his enclosure. He even looked right at the camera for me when I took his picture. |

Emma slept for all but the last 15 minutes of the adventure, but when she woke up, she was SO excited to see everything. She only got to see the big cats exhibit, but I'm pretty sure she was too caught up on the people passing by and the foliage to notice that there was a huge cat 15 feet away.
We had fun. It was nice to get out and enjoy the fine weather. It was the perfect day with a bit of cloud cover. Here's to the first of many zoo visits!
