Jackson, TN and the Casey Jones Museum

When I think of Jackson, I think of that song, "I'm goin' to Jackson...blah blah blah." This was not that Jackson. This is a podunk place in between Memphis and Nashville. It is home to the Casey Jones museum! So exciting, right? Wait..who is Casey Jones? He was a very punctual train conductor...until he went too fast, couldn't stop in time, and died saving everyone on his train. That's what we learned. Oh, and he was in a number of old Disney movies.

We decided one Saturday that we were going to do a day trip. So, we scoured the internet and found our tourist trap and headed on our way. It was fun going on a little road trip. We ate at this very southern buffet, so rightly everything was fried and fried a second time for good measure. Our stomaches were definitely talking to us after eating there! It was pretty tasty, but we aren't use to that much frying. Yikes! Dustin ate this corn meal cheesy cake thingy...it was literally dripping with oil. It left a puddle on his plate of oil. It was a hot ticket item on the buffet though, they had someone on the spot frying them up for people.

The museum was small and most of the shops were...unique, but we had lots of fun. Emma LOVED the train. She wouldn't leave it alone. She kept going back to it. It started pouring while we were out there, but that did not deter her in the slightest. She climbed ALL OVER that train (well, wherever she was allowed to be that is). After a good visit and lots of walking to burn off our lunch, we headed home, fully satisfied with our outing. Good times. The end.
