Grammy and Grandad

The day after Christmas my parents made the trek down to Memphis for a visit. I was so excited for them to get here and so grateful that they could come. They got here mid-afternoon on the 26th, and we had a great and uneventful visit (as I couldn't really do much of anything).

Emma was THRILLED to see her grandparents, and boy did she ham it up for them. Usually she gets pretty quiet until she warms up to people, but it didn't take her long at all before she was talking and singing and dancing and whatever else her wee little heart could come up with. I have never even heard her talk so much, and ANYTHING Grammy and Grandpa said or did had to be mimicked. It was pretty stinkin' cute. The morning after they got here, Emma woke up and went straight for their door. She started pounding and shouting "grandma" and "grandpa" in her sweet little toddler voice trying to get in to them. It took a lot to distract her from her pursuits. The next night she tried to sneak into bed with them. Dustin came to put her down, and she cuddled right up to her grandpa with a look like "Daddy, I'm already in bed, see?"

We did get to do some fun post-Christmas shopping, and Emma got to open her presents from my parents. We all got some pretty awesome stuff, and Emma was thrilled to have her very own shopping cart with all the fake food she could ever want. She strutted around with that thing like she was the coolest little girl in the world, which she is of course. :)

We got to chit chat and visit a good deal. We stayed up way past our bedtimes many a night. We had an all around fun time. I was very sad to see them go, and so was Emma. She cried so hard when they left and yet again called out for them.

We were going to take more pictures, but the weather was not cooperating (and my doctor would probably not be very happy about it either). We did get this cute one of them (at the top of the post) though, and Emma is actually looking at the camera!!
